Welcome to my blog! This is a first for me, a wannabe home chef that grew up next to my grandmother’s stove, entranced by her grandmotherly magic that created the most delicious cakes, biscuits and rusks. Watching her bake and cook is one of my fondest childhood memories. I inherited her love of cooking and would like to share some of it with you.
I am not a trained chef by any means (although I do have a sibling that is a chef de partie), and cook for the sheer love of creating awesome food. Being creative behind the stove is not ideal for following or creating recipes and I had many a time thumb suck a recipe if asked for it. This is my attempt to actually write the recipes down whilst having fun creating new ones and learning the art of food photography!
I hope to share some of my food memories from some of my travels with you and I use many of the base spices and flavours found especially in North African and East European cooking. I also believe very firmly that every recipe is created to be adjusted and changed to taste and availability of ingredients.
Please enjoy this adventure with me and I look forward to comments and suggestions regarding my recipes!
